What is the CXI Channel?

 

Here at CMX Chat, we are sick and tired of our users being made to feel uncomfortable, so we have introduced CXI: Safety in CMX Chat Discord. We have gathered our own specifically selected, trusted, active chatters to become our very own Online Super-Sleuths. They are reporting and banning all unsolicited DMs, non-consensual sexual communication and are incorporating cyberbullying prevention structures into their investigative methods to tackle predatory/manipulative behaviours.

CMX CXI Suite - CXI InvestigationsCXI is on a specific mission to align with and build upon Discord Community Standards . We have created a new role, specifically for this task to ensure that they have the permissions level that they need to see the task through from start to finish. Plus, with the help of our Help Desk features, they have resources at their finger tips to make the CXI safety operation a success. They will form another layer in the online safety team to ensure that the CMX Chat Discord Server is a safe place that is aligned with community guidelines.

Reporting Inappropriate Behaviour to the CMX Chat Discord Server Team:

 

To ensure a safe and respectful community environment, CMX Chat allows users to report any inappropriate behavior, harassment, or other concerns directly through a structured ticketing system. This is different to reporting directly to Discord.

Here’s how you can raise a ticket on CMXChat’s Discord Server:

  • Our Moderators and CXI Team will generally solve your issue within 24-96 hours.
  • Our CXI Team and Moderators are amongst our server at all times, so know our digital realm like the back of their hand.
  • There isn’t such an extensive queue as you would expect with reporting directly to Discord.
  • We want to learn from our users and have the opportunity to keep our server running how us and our users want it to be run.
  • Our CXI Team are always learning and use the tickets raised as a way to map out patterns and new trends in the scammers/harassers methods, thus being able to act proactively in future, rather than re-actively as Discord has to do.
  • We are open to feedback on all issues raised and how they were handled, again, because we want to learn from our users.

CMX Chat’s Commitment to User Safety:

 

Online safety is so important to us in our free online chatrooms. We already have AI integrated systems, pre-prepared to ensure we have inbuilt user protection measures to protect our chatters from online harassment, hate speech, predatorily behaviour etc. Our Moderators are also incredibly emotionally intelligent and aware humans that are committed and driven to creating and being a part of a safe online community. This goes for our CMX Chat site and our CMX Chat Discord Server  and this is why we have launched CXI: Safety in CMX Chat Discord.

 

CMX Chat’s Tips and Best Practices to Preventing Online Harassment:

 

    1. Understand and Respect Digital Citizenship: Practice responsible online behaviour. This includes being respectful to others and knowing how to interact safely on various digital platforms​.

    2. Be Wary of Suspicious Links: Avoid clicking on links from unknown sources, as they could lead to phishing sites or malware. Verify the authenticity of emails, especially those that ask for personal information or prompt you to click on a link​.

    3. Be Cautious with Personal Information: Think carefully before sharing anything online. Once posted, information can be difficult to remove. Avoid sharing sensitive personal details such as your address or phone number​. This also includes images of yourself.

    4. Block and Report Harassment: Use the block, mute, and report functions on internet platforms to deal with accounts that bully or harass you.

    5. Be Mindful of Catfish: People can pretend to be someone they are not in order to gain compromising images of you, bank details etc. Never feel pressured or guilted into sending anything like this. A true friend would never make you feel uncomfortable on purpose.

 

Company Transparency – CXI’s Results So Far:

 

Not every server would publish this information, but we are committed to being transparent as a company. CXI was created in the small hours of 3rd April 2024 and at the time of posting this article, 1230PM 5th April 2024, we have already banned double figures of users through the CXI: Safety in CMX Chat Discord campaign alone. This does not include our other moderator bans, and Discord’s own bans. These numbers show that we are serious about our process and about our commitment to make CMX Chat Discord Channels safe for our users.
